• Don’t be afraid to ask. Many clients appreciate the smooth and reliable collaborations they have with translators, and would be willing to say it.
• Don’t just ask your clients. You can also get references from people you worked with, other translators, mentors, employers you had, etc. Whoever can testify on the quality of your work, should.
• Send them personal reminders. Some folks rush through their emails, so it’s okay to send them a note reminding them to click the link in the email and send a reference in. Of course, be your charming self about it.
